THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE – BEYOND RELAXATION TO HEALING

One of the benefits you associate with massage is relaxation, but therapeutic massage performed by a registered massage therapist not only works to relax muscle tension but also promotes healing. Do you have bad posture or carpal tunnel syndrome from your job, chronic pain from an injury, or limited range of motion from arthritis? Your RMT is trained to perform an assessment, formulate an individualized treatment plan, and provide massage therapy for a variety of conditions, including:

  • Fibromyalgia and other forms of chronic pain

  • Sports, vehicle and workplace accidents

  • Back, leg and neck pain

  • Muscle tension and spasms

  • Tendonitis, arthritis and bursitis

  • Dislocations, strains and sprains

In Ontario an RMT is a primary health care provider. You may visit our RMT either by referral or your own choice. The Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) does not cover therapeutic massage services, but your extended health benefits plan may cover all or part of our RMT services. Call us for specific information or consult your policy.
