  • A: Each employer provides different insurance plans. If you have extended health benefits, chances are your treatment will be paid for. In many instances if you have been injured as a result of an automobile accident, the treatment will also be fully paid for. It is best to check the details of your insurance coverage and policies with your employer. If you are using extended health benefits, check the details of your coverage in your Extended Health Manual, or speak with your Human Resources department.

For your convenience, we can now bill directly to most insurance companies.

  • A. No referral from a doctor is required to make an appointment for a Physiotherapy or Chiropractic treatment. However, it is always advisable to check the provisions of your extended health benefits, as some plans may require a doctor’s referral for reimbursement of cost of some of the treatments.

  • A. We ask that our patients wear comfortable and appropriate clothing for treatment. We also highly recommend that our patients bring any medical documentation and/or test reports, which can facilitate the plan of treatment and help us understand your medical history.

Administratively, we ask that you bring your extended health benefits card, as we may be able to bill directly to the insurer for your visit.

If your injury is work related or the result of a motor vehicle accident, we would require details of your case manager and/or your automobile insurer.

  • A. Services at the clinic are not covered by OHIP. In most cases your extended health care plan may cover all or part of your treatment charges, dependent upon your plan. You are responsible for any deductibles or fees not covered by your insurance. Some insurance plans require a doctor's referral to refund your expenses; we advise that you check your benefits before commencing treatment to understand your coverage. In cases where funding that has been approved or pre-approved, such as when involved in a motor vehicle accident or a work related accident (WSIB), the respective insurance companies will be billed. You will not have to make any payments.

We ask that patients give us 24-hour notice for any cancelled appointments. Any cancellation fees incurred due to missing appointments will not be covered by your insurance.

A comprehensive and thorough examination by your clinician will follow to determine the injury.

Once the examination is completed, you will be given a report of examination findings, explaining the intake and a step-by-step explanation of the examination findings. You will then be given a detailed plan on how your injuries will be treated. This will then be followed with an opportunity for you to ask any questions.
