John

John Ikonomakis, B.A., DC, Registered Chiropractor:

I am a duly qualified chiropractor licensed to practice in the province of Ontario. I graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2006. I have been actively practicing chiropractic and acupuncture in a clinical setting since 2006. I am a member in good standing of the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, Canadian Chiropractic Association, Ontario Chiropractic Association, and the Canadian Chiropractic Protective Association. I am also an ARCON and Metriks certified functional abilities evaluator and interpreter. I have been performing independent chiropractic evaluations since 2006 and Functional Abilities Evaluations since 2001. Prior to my professional career, I attended York University and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Health Science in 2001.

Sadhica

Sadhica Latchman, R.M.T.

Sadhica graduated from the Centennial College; she completed the Massage Therapy Diploma program in 2002. She is trained in Swedish massage techniques and incorporates myofascial trigger point therapy and fascial techniques during treatments. She has experience working with clients suffering from an assortment of conditions that consequently give rise to inflammation, soft tissue injuries, and general stress and fatigue. In the past, she has worked in various multi-therapist clinics and has had the opportunity to work with seniors, athletes, pregnant women, and people with various disabilities. She believes that through the manipulation of soft tissue, Massage Therapy can facilitate the healing process during recovery and improve the quality of life.

Chris

Chris Skederidis M.Sc., PT Registered Physiotherapist

I am a Physiotherapist registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. I graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy degree. I have been practicing as a Physiotherapist since 2005 in various clinical settings, with a specific focus in the area of orthopedics. I am a certified ARCON and Metriks Evaluator. I am a clinical facilitator for the basic and advanced orthopedic units at the University of Toronto. I have completed my level 3 orthopedic manual therapy designation through the OPA and currently pursuing FCAMT designation. I have spent greater than 100 hours to date participating in a variety of ongoing orthopedic educational workshops, conferences and seminars.

Dr. Phil Dimakis

Phil has been practicing in the Durham Region since he graduated from CMCC in 2004. With special interest in both acute sports injuries and chronic pain syndromes, he has worked closely with family physicians and specialists in the area ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients young and old.

Tatiana

Tatiana Trigueros – Kinesiologist

Tatiana graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelors’ degree in Kinesiology and Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion in 2015. Tatiana is a Level 1 Fascial Stretch Therapist and Personal Trainer. Here at the Physio Clinic @ West Durham she hopes to use her expertise to not only aid with rehabilitation but also performance principles.

Ryan

Ryan Kempt B.Kin., Registered Massage Therapist (R.M.T.)

On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, visitors to The Physio Clinic @ West Durham can receive a massage therapy treatment from Ryan Kempt, B. Kin., R.M.T. Prior to becoming registered as a massage therapist in 2000, Ryan received his Bachelor of Kinesiology from McMaster University where he acquired a fundamental understanding of how the body moves. Ryan brings over 15 years of experience and additional training to the massage table where he will work closely with you to meet your short and long-term goals.

Jim

Dr. Jim Getsos, B.A. (Sp. HONS), DC Registered Chiropractor

I am a duly qualified chiropractor licensed to practice in the province of Ontario. I graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 2004. I have been actively practicing chiropractic and acupuncture in a clinical setting since 2004. I am a member in good standing of the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, Canadian Chiropractic Association, Ontario Chiropractic Association, Canadian Society of Chiropractic Evaluators (non-voting member), the CCPA, and Acupuncture Council of Ontario. I am also an ARCON certified functional abilities evaluator. Furthermore, I am a registered Progressive Goal Attainment Program (PGAP) provider.

Prior to my professional career, I attended York University, and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Specialized Honours in Kinesiology and Health Science in 2000. I have been performing independent chiropractic evaluations since 2007. I am certified in Impairment and Disability Rating (AMA 4th Edition) and a member of the American Board of Forensic Professionals. Proudly, I am also currently a faculty member at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in the capacity Resource Clinician and a Clinical Diagnosis/ Orthopaedic Tutor. I have also acted as co-facilitator for online interdisciplinary discussion for the University Health Network through the University of Toronto. I am also an evaluator at CMCC for Objective Structured Clinical Evaluations (OSCE) as well as an admissions interviewer for prospective future students at CMCC.

Bill

Bill Bitaxis B.A., D.Ch. B.Sc. Podiatric Medicine

Bill Bitaxis is a dedicated Chiropodist/Foot Specialist with experience in treating and preventing diseases and dysfunctions of the foot. Bill graduated from the University of Toronto then received his Chiropody training at the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences in Toronto, where he underwent 3 years of practical and didactic training in all aspects of podiatric medicine, biomechanics, orthotic therapy, anesthesia, surgery, and physical therapy. He then continued his education achieving a B.Sc. in Podiatric Medicine from Leeds Metropolitan University in Great Britain. Bill also has a passion for wound care and furthered his education by completing the International Interprofessional Wound Care Course through the University of Toronto.

Bill is a registered member with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario. As a primary foot care provider, Bill works in multiple settings which include hospital community and private office. He is also a clinical educator and coordinator and enjoys teaching students.

Chiropodists or Podiatrists can help children, adults and seniors with a variety of foot problems. In children, early detection of many foot problems such as flat feet, in or out toeing can prevent more serious complications from developing later in life such as knee and lower back pain. The geriatric population can also benefit from Chiropody or Podiatry services for treatment of painful lesions resulting from the effects of diabetes, rheumatoid or osteoarthritis and biomechanical anomalies.

Dennis

Dennis Polygenis B.Sc. Pt., MCPA, Registered Physiotherapist

Mr. Polygenis is a member of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and is licensed to practice in the Province of Ontario. He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 1997. He is a member of the Canadian & Ontario Physiotherapy Associations. He was a Clinical Tutor for the University of Toronto from 1999-2003. He has been in clinical practice for 17 years. He has training in manual therapy, acupuncture and cranial sacral therapy. His in-patient experience includes paediatrics, orthopaedics, brain injury and spinal cord injury. He is a surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) specializing in the areas of comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient medical rehabilitation, occupational rehabilitation and chronic pain. He is a registered Progressive Goal Attainment (PGAP) Provider. He is an ARCON certified functional evaluator. He is certified in the 4th Edition AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment Rating and is a Certified Catastrophic Impairment Rater. He has extensive experience in assessing loss of services in the areas of housekeeping, caregiving, attendant care and long term needs for persons with musculoskeletal impairments, including chronic and catastrophic impairments. He held the position of Vice President, Clinical Operations for a large CARF Accredited multidisciplinary rehabilitation service provider from 2005-2010 He holds current approved certifications in Adult CPR, Standard First-Aid, Child CPR, Child First-Aid and Automated External Defibrillation.
