The Physio Clinic @ West Durham is pleased to inform you that our practice is now open, and here is what you have to look forward to when booking your next appointment.

Please continue to email your clinicians for their availability and any future appointments you may need. Your clinician will reply within one business day and provide you with an appointment time. Your patience is much appreciated.

To further aid in social distancing measures, upon your arrival for your scheduled appointment, please do not enter the clinic more than 5 minutes prior to your appointment time. We will be staggering appointments to allow for fewer patients in the clinic and more time to clean and thoroughly disinfect the equipment and facilities between patients. We have temporarily shut down our waiting area to enforce social distancing.

If you decide to wait outside, please maintain safe social distancing practices with commuters and other patients.

While at the clinic, your treating practitioner will take the time to discreetly screen you before you are brought into either a treatment room or the exercise area. Your temperature will be taken, and you will be asked to use hand sanitizer to further ensure a safe environment.

In addition, we kindly ask that you leave all your personal belongings in your car in order to reduce the risk of contact. Our staff members who are in direct contact with patients will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment. We ask that you bring your own PPE, and kindly wear the items unless otherwise directed.

We thank you for your understanding and patience during this time and look forward to seeing you soon!

Stay safe,

The Physio Clinic @ West Durham Team!

Our Whole Body Approach to your Health & Wellbeing is Comprehensive and Effective!

We Offer Disability Support: The Physio Clinic @ West Durham

“Let us comfort and reassure you, there is life after a debilitating accident.”

If you have been injured and are now dealing with a disability, whether severe or mild, let The Physio Clinic @ West Durham comfort and reassure you that there is life after a debilitating accident of this sort.

However, our medical experts and other trusted partners can help you with all facets of your recovery, from diagnosis on through treatment, and even assist you in locating and acquiring legal representation, if desired or warranted.

In our experience, we have found that oftentimes, those facing a permanent disability generally run into problems understanding the long-term policies as set out by the insurer who is responsible for authorizing your medical care.

The policies tend to be complex in nature, requiring the assistance of a legal professional. If needed, we can also assist you with this. Ask us for details.

However, like all victims of an accident, it is critical, and absolutely necessary you begin your journey of recovery by first obtaining a timely and accurate diagnosis as to the nature and severity of your injuries.

The next step is for you to implement an immediate course of treatments and therapy as laid out and recommended by your personal physician or another medical specialist who has thoroughly examined you.

What Kind of Treatments Can I Expect to Receive for my Injuries?

In respect to a formal course of treatment as it relates to your own trauma or points of pain, specific avenues of recommended therapies will be dependent upon the nature and severity of your injuries.

For instance – Your examination and subsequent tests will reveal if you are experiencing, or at some point in the future be dealing with:

  • Chronic pain
  • Mobility issues (difficulty walking, bending, standing, lifting etc.)
  • Psychology issues, i.e. depression, nervousness etc.
  • A disability due to a spinal cord injury
  • Traumatic brain injury

All of the above will determine the type of treatment, and the length of treatment time you may need in order for you to achieve your health and wellness goals.

Another factor about your case that will be taken into consideration when you are examined by a medical doctor is:

  1. Will you be able to work, or return to work now, or at some point in the future?
  2. Can your employer (if you are employed at the time of your injury) accommodate a schedule of work that facilitates your current physical limitations?

NOTE: You should be aware that in the event you are unable to work for long periods of time, due to your injury, you will likely need to demonstrate to your employer, as well as to your own personal, or employer’s insurer that you are actively participating in your recovery.

*Failure to comply can disqualify you from receiving the benefits you are entitled to. We can help you by furnishing you (and your legal representative – if warranted) with supporting documentation. Ask us for details.

Regardless of your current condition, and your present outlook on life, we at The Physio Clinic @ West Durham can give you expert care that can improve your quality of life, and help you achieve your short and long-term health-related goals.

Our Level of Care, Support and Skill is Unmatched Anywhere!

“I have been suffering from cluster headaches for over 8 years now. Throughout this time, these headaches severely impacted my lifestyle. I sought treatment through a neurologist and tried various combinations of medication that were ineffective.

I finally decided to try alternative therapy at the Physio Clinic @ West Durham, where Dr. John Ikonomakis recommended I undergo acupuncture. After only one month of treatment, I began to see a drastic decrease in the number and severity of my headaches.

My quality of life has improved dramatically, and I am able to focus at work for long periods of time.”
